Privacy Policy

In short: your books are stored on your computer and, when you sign in, copied to UnicoBooks servers so they can sync between your computers. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number. We don't sell your data.

Bank and card connections (Plaid)

Connecting a bank or card account is optional. If you do, UnicoBooks uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to gather your data from your financial institution. You sign in to your bank inside Plaid's window; UnicoBooks never sees or stores your bank username or password.

From each account you connect, we receive its name, type and last four digits, and its transactions (date, amount, description and merchant name). We use this only to show those transactions in your books for you to review and categorize. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

By connecting an account, you grant UnicoBooks and Plaid the right, power and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from your financial institution. You agree to your personal and financial information being transferred, stored and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.

You can disconnect an account at any time from the Bank page in UnicoBooks. We then ask Plaid to end the connection and stop fetching new transactions. Transactions already in your books stay there until you delete them.
